Clearly, our experience was a result of staff errors/confusion - that is a shame. At the end, they made an appropriate reduction in our bill and we were on our way. Making good on their word, 3 more dishes were delivered Chicken Panini, meatballs, Chicken eggroll. After a short discussion, we were given a list of dishes that were available within 5 minutes and that adjustments would be made to the bill. Another staff member returned and told us that the owner/manager was busy cooking but that she could deal with our questions. Around 7:25, we were told that the kitchen had no record of our dinner orders "the order didn't go through." She offered to submit it immediately because "the show doesn't usually start until 8:10 and we should have enough time." We asked to speak with the owner or manager. Around 7:20, we hadn't seen the rest of our dinners so we asked that it be checked. Soon after delivery, a staff member stopped by commenting that it may have been delivered in error because she had another table that needed that dinner. That was brought to the waitress' attention and resulted in some confusion that was resolved.Īround 7-7:10, ONE of our dinners (Gnocchi) were delivered (out of 4). On delivery, the drink that we had problems with before was now missing alcohol. The Plushrooms and the waffle fries were marvelous! We gave our dinner order around 6:50. Now, only a full-sized serving, and inferior to Plush's - perhaps frozen and reheated? The Caesar salad was bland at best. They kept the Plush's chicken eggrolls which we usually order a 1/2 serving. The menu is pitifully absent of Italian, or varied selection. The walls are dark and with a black ceiling, it's uh. The mural looks like a 9th grade art project which got a grade of C. A huge mural on the wall resembling what someone thinks Italy looks like is what you get to view, along with a few TVs. The change to the decor is adolescent - the bar area is nicer, a bit more upscale, but the restaurant area is just. Tavern in Calabria? I guess if you serve paninis (like in Applebees) or dried-out meatballs that any beginning cook could do better with. The name magically changed to Osteria Calabria and should have been Osteria Calamity. What this place needed was a 'freshen up' of their look and a menu enhancement. Plush was a place we would visit about once per month, usually for a Kez Theater show and it was never outstanding, but the food was decent, the orders taken correctly by a really nice staff, and the drinks were pretty good.
